Reversible membrane staining solution stains (Ponceau S) the proteins on nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes, and may be useful to monitor the protein transfer efficiency in immuno-blotting experiment.

Staining is extremely easy. Simply by soaking protein transferred membrane in staining solution, protein bands begin to appear immediately.

Background staining is removed by washing the membrane in distilled water. Staining not affects subsequent immuno-detection procedure.
